The sooner the better, no later than one month before event.

11. NEW BUSINESS   -     Board had a long discussion on how to better educate parents about student alcohol and drug usage especially in the Academy/CAPA programs.  These parents were invited to an educational meeting on this issue sponsored by Rosecrance.  Cease Fire also spoke.  Board wanted to know what interventions, if any, does administration have.  Assistant Principal assured the Board the drug sniffing dogs were coming sometime.  Board is in agreement that if programs are put in place all students and parents will equally be educated on the issue.  Lots of ideas were suggested.  Examples: parent action network, more frequent dog searches, parents speaking up when they know a student is using, using the Website as an educational resource, having a drug awareness night around prom and other times throughout the year.

Meeting Adjorned.  Respectfully Submitted,     Pertina Porchia, Secretary
