HAC Jude Makulec *There will be a vote on scholars diploma tomorrow * AP classes- there will be a competency test at the end of the courses * Valedictorians can only be selected from the top 25% of the class and must have taken AP classes starting this incoming freshman year. AP classes will be weighted grades and only District certified teachers will be allowed to teach these classes. Questions were brought up at the meeting with the superintended how to pay for AP test for the disadvantaged students this is still an unknown. AP classes will carry a 5% yearly adjustment on GPA's * Zero Hour will be reinstated with only some classes back. Middle schools will remain a 6 hour day. * Jude expresses gratitude to Laura and all that she has done and the talks at school board meetings, petitions on 7th hour but it doesn't look like it will happen. Laura spoke on some of the things the committee will continue to work on for all students and also expressed that Pertina has been helping on the committee and also spoke to the board. The group will continue to gather signatures, press release is scheduled. Trying to set up meeting with Dr. Thompson. The committee is committed to staying active not satisfied with Zero Hour seeing that it won't service all students. *Please keep track of any articles or media coverage that may put down Auburn. Some of the Board members feel that Auburn does not get the proper media coverage and would like to set up a meeting to find out why with newspaper. Suggestion made by Pertina to try and notify the news/sport editors of all events coming up for Auburn and be persistent with emails, calls, letters etc., Jude insisted on scheduling an appointment and going in to discuss the issue with the editor even though she had previously contacted him on the recent article that only pictured one of Auburn's teams but never mentioned in the article that another team had placed in top 3 in this event. A response was read stating that since there was a picture of Auburn students the staff felt that this was adequate coverage seeing that a reporter was not on spot for this event. Pam reiterated to keep a proactive approach and keep things on a positive note when persons do sit down with the media.

4. PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Mrs. Wilson * Prom Week re-enactment of the wreck for prom. Jay Hurder had approached her about it not sure if the board was working with a contact person have not heard any thing as of yet would like for this to occur 1-2 weeks before prom so that is still fresh in students head before prom. They should work with Phil Meli to get it cleared on calendar. Janice will talk with Mr. Meli. * Zero Hour there is a possibility of Zero hour next year it has not been confirmed thru the superintendent as of yet. Mrs. Wilson has not been authorized to schedule zero hour courses as of yet. When she is notified she will survey students again and see what they want and it will be a mess to reschedule classes but it can and will be done. Not sure what courses will be offered at Auburn. * Newsletter deadline is April 6th if boosters would like something in it. * School Report Card a cut and paste was done so the board can have a better understanding of how Auburn compared to other schools in Reading and Math (PASE) we did quite well (cut and paste handouts received)* Questions from Board Jude are seniors taking finals this year or next. Response - Not this year not sure about next year. Comment from Board member Pam she was very offended with the dance routine done at the game against Boylan. There have been several raunchy routines this year and some of the girls and parents are really offended by them. A.D. Responds He's heard some of these complaints and there will be a different coach next year due to other reasons. Board needs to be aware that cheerleading has become more of that kind of movements ( no good choice of words for it) but next year’s coach will have a better handle on dance so that it is more tasteful and will look into having practices on site and someone to approve before performances. Questioned asked if Mrs Wilson was having a meeting with superintendent. Respond She will be going downtown and taking a few staff with her. Last week she went also and took a couple of staff members

5. ATHLETIC DIRECTOR TERRY NIEDZWIECKI * Winter complete things went well. Boys regional Friday @ Boylan * Spring started, soccer started today. NIC 9 Banquet is done by Rockford Register Star and this year they are doing it different, they picture all the athletes in the paper, however this year they decided that the paper would sponsor the athlete and coach only no parents. Each school need a parent volunteer to coordinate this. The parents must buy tickets from the Star not the school . Certificate come from the Register Star now if it doesn't work better this year they may cancel it for next year. It appears that they have been losing money by ordering too many meals. This banquet is the week after our Banquet. * REBA Girls Basketball will be here March 11th so boosters can do concessions it is usually a big success * Clarification of financial request deadline is it May 1st for Fall Sports.'04-05 or '05-06. Board Responds '04-05 * Soccer will be at the indoor sports complex paid for by the district, our field is being re-done. There would have been 5 home games that we will not get the money from. Construction will start as soon as the weather breaks. Spring sports schedules can be picked up in A.D. office. In Spring 2006 Auburn will host the Boys Track Meet which is a big event. * Football Head Coach is a slow process. Janice says that there was a wide variety of candidates and the committee is doing a good job

7. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION JANICE SCHMITT * Scholarship packets will be explained and give out at next staff meeting if okay with Mrs. Wilson. Okay with Mrs Wilson. It will be listed on School Web Site and forms can be downloaded. It will also be posted in April News letter so plenty of opportunity to hear about it this year. Boettcher Scholarship students must attend NIU

Last month $101 previous month $141 teams get 100% profit for sales so it is a pretty easy * Do we want to do Market Day this summer in June, July & August.
