AUBURN BOOSTER CLUB MEETING
May 16, 2005 6p.m.

PRESENT: P. Porchia, Randy Wilt, Pam Wilson,Valsheria Langley, Janice Schmitt, Maureen Hartgrove, Jude Makulec, Gina Boettcher, Carol Klopp, Mrs Wilson Principal., T. Niedzwiecki, A.D GUEST: Linda Greene, Fred Brechlin 2 new board members also present
1. PRESIDENT’S REPORT JANICE * Meeting called to order, motion made that April minutes be accepted with necessary correction. Lea Asher & Leann Ippiletto received the Booster Scholarship and Holly G. Received the Boettcher Scholarship. the Nation Honor Ceremony did not go over well. It was poorly attended. Conflicts with Scoccer games and other events. Mrs Greene and Ms. Hiesel is willing to help boosters with this.Mrs Wilso suggest letters to be mailed out for next year, Terry will check schedules to make sure there are no conflics. the question was asked, will the same person be over NHS next year, to Mrs Wilson. Answer, No, Not necessary. the booster club would like for the next leader to have some leadership skills. Question also asked if the person receives a stiffen/differiential. Answer was No.* we are loosing 2 counslors next year, Mr Meli and mr. Keating. We are closed at 1800 students so we need mor counslors. mrs. Wilson responds is that they are working on it a proposal has been put into place. right now we have 5.4 counslors Guilford has 6.8 at 2,000 students. Question asked to Mrs Wilson do we have a waithing list. Answer was there is no openings right now . guilford is closed and they do have a waiting list.. * We will envite the new principal Ms. Hawkins to the June meeting for our social evening, Mrs. Wilson will buy appetizers. * Friday there is a meet and greet for staff, to meet her at 8:15 a.m. if board wants to attend they ar welcom per Mrs. Wilson. *There was a suggestion made from the floor that the booster club to hold a meet and greet for Ms. Hawkins after school starts, all members were in agreement with this.
2. TREASURE’S REPORT KATHRYN *WRITTEN *Taxes were paid this month that is why it appears that we had a loss of income. Amcore aacount closed and moved to Northwest Boettcher Memorial College Fund $2,000.
3. HAC Jude Makulee *.Credic recovery packet will not be ready until second semester next year. * There was a rally today for Funding For Education. CEO of Chicago was present with others from the area. There are two bills in progress right now they have combined so there is a better chance of movement one of the bills is 750. * Honenegah has a bus leaving Wed. at 6:15 a.m. for Springfiels. * Auburn is well repersented at the Board Meetings and they do a good job at reconizing the students recording. * Yoland Simmons will retire from Guilford but will become a director next year.* Zero Hour next year all scholl will have 3 may be Mrs. Wilson can comment on this. .
4. PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Mrs. Wilson * Zero Hour Mrs Wilson explains to the board that Mr. Keating has sent out request approx 193 responses return. We have enough intrest to fill 6 classes and a request has been made but no response yet. The classes that were talked about, but no sure decision as of yet, were A/P Statistics, Band, Spanish 1/2, INET, Art, Antomony/Physiology. * Suggestion made that Booster Club Application deadline be moved back, the April 30th deadline is to close to the Awards Assembly, Senior Prom, ect. *Phil is working to make the reenactment inorder, St. Anthony Life Line Helicopter, The Fire Dept and others are helping make this event successful lets just pray it doesn't rain. Review for graduation and everthing is planned for Wednesday. * Clandar Raffle does the board need permission still no word the question was given to Diane Peterson to give to Dr. Thompson. As far as we can tell only Teams, Classes & Students need to go to the distric. * PROM will be at Rockford College 8:30 - 11:30. Please call Lynette if able to chaprone 399-4805.
5. ATHLETIC DIRECTOR TERRY NIEDZWIECKI * Spring sports going well. 3 girls to go down state, Boys conference went good, Tennis took 5th in conference. Boys Baseball wone double header Sat. * Invitations with RSVP went out. There are approx 90, 1 sport, 12, 2 sports, 4-5, 3 sports depending on how the spring ends. Would like to invite new principal Mrs. Janice Hawkins (all board members in agreement with this). *Head Football Coach will be Tyrone Fambro, he is working on staff here, P.E. teacher, a graduate of Auburn, so I think he'll work out fine. * We need mor Faculty involvement in after school sponsored activities with the Booster Club's help he think he can make this happen. All the boosters will have to do is sponsor a give away / spirit item. would like to give it away at the Sept. 2nd game. Not a good ideal Booster Club will be working ON The Waterfront that night. Next option would be Sept. 16 Against St. Charles East. Boosters okay with tis ideal per Terry. * June 15th at Giovanni's ALL Conference Banquet will be held and Janice will be working with the tickets.* Rockford Coalition willl be having only 2 meetings per year now. Guilford A.D will handle sports cards and Bee-A-Roo will go back on them. No word yet on participation Fee. If you miss a meeting you will be off the board. The board is made up of A.D.'s and parents. *Question asked if there has been any work on Terry's job for next year? Answer was no word yet. Asked how can the Board help? Suggestion mand to write a letter to Dr. Thompson about Terry's success here at Auburn and that we would like his contract renewed. Mrs Wilson and Terry see no harm in this so the board will send a letter with the request that Terry be reinstated.

FINANCIAL REQUESTS Kim Campbell -
Yearbook * Turned a request not present. Linda Greene - Scholastic Bowl
* written request for display case for trophys. currently has 4 stat trophies and lots of others
and no place to show them. Fred Brechlin -Volleyball * written request for a 3 pole system
approx. 57 girls next year. Questioned asked to A.D. if volleyball is a part of
athletic budget. Answer, yes.
7. SPORTS BANQUET KATHRYN CURRAN * Everthing is set. Favors on tables for desert. we will have name tents. Fred did invitations. We will get together at Janice house to finalize program and pput together favors. Tables will be set up the day of. Meeting at Janice will start at 7:00 p.m.
8. CALANDAR RAFFLE JANICE SCHMITT * There will be a meetining Sunday night
at her house. There is one bill and it is renewable $395, due every year in April
and it covers us for all raffles. August 1st through December 17th tickets will
be on sell.
9. BOARD NOMINATIONS MAUREEN HARGROVE / RANDY WILT *There are 12 members and 4 officers. President Gina Boetcher 1st Vice President Maureen Hargrove 2nd Vice President Janice Schmitt, Treasure Kathryn Curran, Serectary Marylin Hite-Ross. Moved by Randy 2nd by Jude all infavor no opposes. Will decide Board of Directors at next meeting. Slate called by president.
10. VOTING ON FINANCIAL REQUESTS *Kim Campbell - Yearbook Will wait for next meeting current yearbook not out yet. *Linda Greene-Scholastic Bowl After discussion board decided to have someone check with the Carpenters Local / Rockvalley and bring back to next board meeting. Motion by Randy 2nd by Val all in favor by board with no opposing. *Fred Brechlin-Volleyball Motion made to give $2,100 for replacement of net and pole, made by Gina 2nd by Jude Discussion He requested for $2,100 or 3,144. The $3,144 is the 3 pole system that he wanted. |Motion amended by Janice to give $3,100 to Fred for the 3 pole system as requested. 2nd by Tina motin passed with no opposing.
NEXT MEETING TO BE ANNOUNCED BOARD MEMBERS DECIDED TO GIVE MRS. WILSON A GIFT AT THIS MEETING FOR ALL SHE'S DONE TO HELP AND SUPPORT US
