TREASURER’S REPORT - Distributed Profit/Loss Comparison for Aug. 14- Sept. 12, 2005. CD came due – unanimously agreed to put $5,000 in savings account, the balance of about $5,000 in a new 11-month CD.

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT – On the Waterfront admission booth fundraiser – check should be received in 1-2 months. Changeover of board positions requires new signatures on accounts at Northwest Bank. Miss Hawkins asked if Booster Club would take over running the Renaissance Program (left open by Mr. Meli’s retirement). She will ask Mr. Keating if he will consider taking it over. Parent Council is compiling a directory of PTO officers and board members. General form was completed; individual forms not completed pending further explanation of necessity of information. Parent Jim Crow and board member Tina Porchia agreed to be Auburn representatives to Parent Council.

 

CALENDAR RAFFLE REPORT – 2,662 of 4,000 tickets have been distributed to sellers. Janice Schmitt will participate on radio 1440 WROK “Live at Five” with Dean Irvin to promote calendar raffle. Efforts to promote the raffle include meeting with Mr. Harnish, Mr. Hoffman, and Sgt. Mindach to appeal to parents to participate in selling tickets; attending the PGE meeting; sending email to every address in the Auburn website database. It was suggested that a press release be sent to cable Channel 20. It was suggested that the calendar raffle be promoted at Focus on Education at CherryVale Mall.

 

CONCESSIONS REPORT - Indoor concessions sales are down due to electrical problems, which should be corrected soon. Some prices raised – see attached report. Need to replace propane tank for gas grill at outdoor concession stand – cost about $40. Still in need of concessions workers for second shift (7-9 pm) for football games.

 

SPIRIT WEAR REPORT – Spirit wear sales for this fall amount to about $6,000.

 

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR’S REPORT – Twelve teachers have responded to invitation to Teacher Appreciation Night on Sept. 16. Booster Club will set up canopies (belonging to booster families), tables, chairs, etc. Each teacher receives sandwich, chips, drink. Senior Night Oct. 14 – seniors will be recognized during half time of the sophomore football game. Plaques are being ordered. Pool is being filled & heated, hope for completion by Monday. It was suggested that cheerleaders decorate lockers of football players during homecoming week.

 

 

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT – Jay Hurder representing Miss Hawkins. Concerned presented to Mr. Hurder included: Auburn website needs update; lack of zero-hour classes offered to non-gifted students; students’ schedules should be done before school starts; administration’s rule regarding no water bottles in the classrooms; no freshman class adviser; college night for seniors on Sept. 14.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS – It was suggested that a formal policy be drafted regarding the donation of Coke products to teams and clubs to sell at their events. It was suggested that a formal policy be drafted regarding payment to teams and clubs who volunteer to work concessions.

 

NEW BUSINESS – Stephanie Whittington donated two $15 dinners at TGI Friday’s and Tina Porchia donated a basket of scented lotions etc. to use as door prizes for the teachers at Teacher Appreciation Night.
